Draw everyday challenge
I love to draw but don't seem to find the time to do it so I joined a challenge called draw everyday. So far I've failed miserably at it!!!

More of My Drawings

After doing pencil and pen & ink drawings I ventured into colored pencils. Not sure I like the color as much as the tonal values I get with the graphite pencil but as long as I keep it subtle I can live with it.
I have been working on an elephant picture and a hollyhock flower picture which I need to scan and upload.

My people drawings

The Pretty Woman....my mother-in-law Barbara Morris age 28. The sad clown drawn from a learn to draw book by Gene Franks. The third picture is my Grandpa at age 90

I
love to look at faces, determining the lines, color of the eyes how big or small the nose is, the lips, etc. I love old people's faces, there is so much to tell in the lines of their faces and their aged hands.

I took Mr. Clown into PSP8 and did a little altering on him. I also have him in yellow and blue and of course my favorite inversion technique!!!

My Drawings

I am self taught using drawing books by Gene Franks. I did take a drawing on the right side of the brain class in 1994 which was very inspiring!Totally amazing what your brain can retrain to do if you let it!!!

There is something about pencil drawings that just pull me in. I think maybe it's the tonal values. I started adding some color to my drawings using charcoals, but I still like the graphite pencil the best.
I have a thing about faces, especially aged faces and also hands.
My work is at a very elementary level but as I said before ..."It's Art for my soul".
